I think I’ll take a drive out to Oklahoma,
T’see what mid-America has to say.
I need to understand: what do they know that I don’t.
I hope I don’t lose my way.

I’m seeing Red, seeing Red, but I’ve got the blues.
Oh, what’ll I do?
Seeing Red, seeing Red, but I’ve got the blues.
And when I wake up tomorrow, I’ll still have the blues.

It seems that all this time I’ve been so misguided, Looking at the world the whole wrong way.
If I can see the right, might understand what’s been decided. At least I’ll find a church to pray.

I’m seeing Red, seeing Red, but I’ve got the blues.
Oh, what’ll I do?
Seeing Red, seeing Red, but I’ve got the blues.
And when I wake up tomorrow, I’ll still have the blues.

It’s hard enough to see without a light on.
It’s harder still when mud’s thrown in your eyes.
I trust that everything should turn out alright,
‘Cause we’ve got everything money can buy.

Wonder if anyone here knows just where we’re going.
I only hope somebody knows how to drive.
If we can take control then maybe it won’t be too late. Maybe we can make it out alive.

I’m seeing Red, seeing Red, but I’ve got the blues.
Oh, what’ll I do?
Seeing Red, seeing Red, but I’ve got the blues.
And when I wake up tomorrow, I’ll still have the blues.
