(Based on a true story when Eric was going from New York to North Carolina circa 1978... I wonder - what ever happened to that dude?)
Greyhound bus shaking off the dust of New York city. Heading for the south in a 24 hour day. Black man singing the blues, swigging on a bottle of booze. What a show. Here we go. Well allright.
Hit DC at a quarter after 3 cup of coffee. He said "Hey Lordy mama, don't that thing look fine?" Slipped on his blue suede shoes and he started out making the moves on any woman who was willing and allright.
He said "Listen here, brother. Life is like a penny arcade. The sun is gonna rise, you gotta keep your eyes to the dawning. Wake up to the day or you'll be on your way all alone. Keep your thing in play and you will wear a smile ever-oning. But I'm getting off here - you'll have to make it on your own."
Greyhound bus shaking off the dust of DC city. Heading for the south in a 24 hour day. I'm just a white boy singing the blues. Picked me up a couple of clues. What a show. Here we go. Well allright.
